In support of California MD-4 and the August designation as Youth Project Care Month, the SDMLC PRIDE helped a child in need who wanted to play football but could not afford to purchase the necessary new gear to do so this school year.  His family has suffered during the long-term COVID pandemic period and is challenged with obtaining full employment, so the San Diego Miramar Lions stepped in to lend a “paw” or two.  As the start of football season is just beginning, the lions quickly roared into action and headed “south” to help find the appropriate football gear in the right size and desired color for this up-and-coming football star.  SDMLC Lions Smitty and Demetrick decided a quick run to the locating sporting store would be very helpful, and our young, rising, 10-year-old football star found just the right Nike football cleats, Under Armour gloves, and a very durable mouth guard.  You could say “he is suited up and ready to run the ball downfield.”   Without this donated sports gear being made available to him, this young man might not have been able to play successfully on the team this year.   He and his family were overjoyed with the new football gear, and their smiles show it.  Thank you for letting us help a “rising football star” be successful in his own right!  Thank you, Lions Smitty and Demetrick – you guys scored a “touchdown.”   The SDMLC PRIDE is “ROARING” with all of you!   TOUCHDOWN!
