During the month of May, the San Diego Miramar Lions Club collected glasses from multiple COSTCOs, SD County Libraries, local churches, and the JC Penney Optical Shops (Carlsbad and North County). In addition, thanks also to the White Sands La Jolla nursing home and Redwood Terrace Senior Care for collecting glasses from the residents on behalf of all Lions. We partnered this month with San Diego Rancho Bernardo Lions Club who contributed a few boxes and bags to this May 2022 effort. Together, we enjoyed the enormous success of donated eyewear. Community efforts included 671 clear glasses, 213 sunglasses, 218 eyeglass cases, two hearing aids, and five boxes of hearing aid batteries. The Lions’ VISION goals of extending the gift of sight are only possible by these generous monthly donations. We thank all of our community stores listed and their staff for pitching in and adding their efforts toward our eyewear donations. We filled Lion Amy’s car to the ceiling and stuffed the car trunk delivering box after box of glasses. Many thanks to all –
