SDMLC Installation of Officers, New Lions Induction, and July Meeting

The New Lion Year 2022-2023 began with a ROAR.  The San Diego Miramar Lions Club had their first meeting of the year and installation of officers at the Pacific Islander Beer Company (owned by a Lion member).   The meeting and installation were attended by approximately 37 members of the community, both lions and non-lions.  In addition, the new District Governor Lion Jay Ruiz, Jr., was in attendance with his leadership staff – 1st Vice District Governor Lion Julio DeGuzman, 2nd Vice District Governor Leo Williams, Executive Assistant to the District Governor Lion Jay Ruiz, Sr., PCC and Global Leadership Team Coordinator Mary Rynearson, Global Membership Approach/Global Membership Team, PDG Norm MacKenzie, Cabinet Secretary Lion Virginia Williams, and Northwest Region Chair/San Diego Miramar Lions Club Charter President Lion Elizabeth Yoe, Ph.D.  The attendance by the San Diego and Imperial Counties District 4L6 leadership made this meeting very special with much-added enthusiasm offered by the District Governor at this “first” event as the newly elected DG.  We have now shared a “FIRST” with “DG Lion JJ.”  Wow!
During our July meeting, the PRIDE inducted two new members, Lion Stephen Ko and Lion Elizabeth Villarreal – again, welcome – and we thanked all the outgoing officers while welcoming the new officers who will lead our club to success in the coming year.   We shared some wonderful lion fellowship under the tropical cabana covering offering shade to all and a July 4th banquet table of food and beverages.  Everyone had a good time and many stayed long after to enjoy the breeze of a July 4th holiday weekend.  What a grand way to kick off the new year – LET’S ROAR!  If you are not a lion yet, join now.
