The San Diego Miramar Lions Club partnered with the North County Veterans Stand Down (SDVSD) located in Vista, California supporting their North County Veterans Stand Down Event and Project.  The SDNC Veterans Stand Down organization is a grassroots, volunteer group helping transitioning veterans get back on a path of success.  During the period of the Stand Down, veterans are welcomed to a private location addressing issues of concern while working toward transitioning back into the community to stand “strong.”  Their four-day event allows veterans in San Diego County to receive a multitude of services in a safe, drug-free, and giving environment located on the Green Oaks Ranch in Vista, CA, which is approximately 142 acres.

During the October 2022 North County Veteran Stand Down, the Lions of the Miramar Club purchased and donated 75 pairs of brand-new shoes, ten 7-day pill boxes, boxes of toothpaste, shaving razors, and more.  Thank you NCVSD for taking care of all veterans, both men, and women, in need of assistance and in the transition process as the weather begins to change, and Fall brings colder weather.  Food, clothing, and shoes are vital during the inclement weather months as well as medical and legal assistance.   We are thankful for your contributions to our Nation’s heroes and your multitude of services offered to more than 1300 of our military veterans.  On behalf of a grateful Nation, thank you for continuing to care for our military veterans.
