On November 13, 2022, the San Diego and Imperial Counties Lions District 4L6 held their annual Lions Veteran of the Year Award and banquet at the American Legion Hall located in downtown La Mesa, CA. In attendance were approximately 150 Lions, Leos, and community members to welcome and honor all our military members as District 4L6 announced the honored Lions Veteran of the Year nominees and final winner for LY2022-2023. The festive veteran ceremony started with the six-person team of the San Diego Veterans Honor Guard posting the colors, and the Military Missing Man Table was presented by Charles “Chuck” Camarato. The Guest Speaker was Colonel Christopher Keane, USMC-Retired and in attendance were nine invited active duty sailors who were invited to share in the Veteran of the Year Ceremony and lunch. Also in attendance were 11 members of the SD Miramar Lions Club filling up a whole table plus! The winner this year was PDG Lion Norm MacKenzie, USMC-Ret. Congratulations Lion Norm – we are all so very proud of you and share in your celebration as District 4L6 Lions Veteran of the Year! Bravo Zulu!!
