We started January off with so many calls and emails from the community at large who wanted to donate eyeglasses extending the gift of vision. The SDMLC would like to thank JC Penney’s Optical Center Carlsbad and North County, La Jolla Presbyterian Church, San Diego County Library (Governor Drive), and Costco (multiple) for donating their glasses to our monthly VISION collection mission this month. The Lions of Rancho Bernardo also partnered with us this month, as they usually do, aiding and adding to the overall donated count of eyewear. Finally, we had several local citizens who dropped off bags of glasses collected within their households. Thank you everyone! Community helping community – this month we provided the Lions Optometric Vision Center downtown with 528 pairs of clear eyeglasses, 90 pairs of sunglasses, and 77 eyeglass cases. Great job in contributing to the Lions VISION mission! Working together with community has been so rewarding…let’s keep up the camaraderie as we ease into the New Year!
