The La Jolla Presidents Lions Club, San Diego Miramar Lions Club, and Pennisula Lions Club joined hands in a July fundraiser to raise money to purchase an afternoon of “Thank you ice cream, sodas, cookies, and more” for the local San Diego Police Department Western Division. After an afternoon of interesting and innovative sandwiches and friendship, funds raised/donated totaled $100 in late July. All the July funds from the fundraiser were applied here for the SDPD thank you afternoon in August. The three clubs offered their thanks for the SDPD’s hard work and efforts as they continue their care of community and its citizens. We were fortunate to share a few stories and 80 bars of ice cream, cookies, water, and more with the morning and afternoon shifts. The Captain came out to greet us along with the patrol division.
