The San Diego Miramar Lions Club (SDMLC) established a VISION partnership with fellow Lions in the Philippines by collecting eyeglasses, sunglasses, and children’s glasses over the last two months. In just eight weeks, 50+ pairs of glasses were collected and will be hand-delivered overseas by a Lion of the SDMLC, Lion Sonia. Thank you Lion Sonia for your dedication to others and to this project!!!
The project involved the purchase of blue and yellow plastic buckets with Lion signage attached requesting used eyewear. Each Lion member was responsible for placing these buckets in their work locations, businesses they frequented, schools they attended, or churches in the community. In such a short period of time, we had “overnight success” collecting 50+ pairs of eyewear for repair and redistribution to those less fortunate.
Good job SDMLC Lions! You should be proud of yourselves for a very quick and efficient response to the project, and in meeting the VISION Goal established by Lions Club International (LCI).
