San Diego Miramar Lions Club cleaned up the Christa McAuliffe Park (Winterwood Lane Park).  Winterwood Lane/Christa McAuliffe Park is a nice park with a couple of play structures and a sand play area. According to the Mira Mesa Recreational Council, “the park was named in honor of the astronaut who died in the Challenger Space Shuttle disaster.”

On Saturday morning, the Lions formed a group by the entry way and the PRIDE was honored with the District 4L6 DG Lion Jay Jr, pictured with this article, joining us for our environmental event.  We found some interesting items during our park clean that included one half of a fishing reel, a partial but well chewed tennis ball, an “Easter egg filled with goodies” (that no one found during the Easter hunt), and lots of colored egg shells, Easter “grass,” and so much more.

The environmental project was lead by Lion Tommy Hough.  Thank you Lion Tommy for planning, managing, and leading the project  Well done everyone!
