The rains subsiding and the sun peeking out from a wet end of January, February 2023 started with a Lions donation to the local Jonas Salk Elementary School located next to Maddox Park on Flanders Street in Mira Mesa/San Diego.  Jonas Salk is known as a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) school that opened in 2015. The $24 million school is named after Dr. Jonas Salk, who invented the polio vaccine.

Working with the school administrators’ to help keep the children of the community healthy and minimize the sharing of germs, viruses, and more, the Lions donated 379 bottles of hand sanitizer that will be added to school back packs as they are prepared for the upcoming delivery to the children in attendance with a few bottles placed in the shared administrative areas.  Helping the SDMLC PRIDE make the timely delivery were two students who attend the school, and our very own Lion Amy pictured here.  Thank you to all the big box stores donating several thousand bottles of hand sanitizer to the lion community for distribution, and ensuring the children in our communities stay healthy.  Roaring together toward success!
