The world over, COVID-19 has effected every country and its citizens.  Many businesses shuttered their businesses, and some jobs could simply not be carried out due to safety concerns.  People, in our local communities, in the thousands, were laid off, furloughed, or just let go to find their own way during the pandemic.  Without an income and a sudden increase in the price of food products, many could not afford basic groceries to feed themselves or their families. 

Each day, thousands of cars lined up in the local stadium parking lot hoping for food staples to help feed their families, hoping to get by with a little help.  Each day, the donated food supply would run short.  Many cars were turned away, and told to wait until tomorrow…until the next truck delivery.

The San Diego Miramar Lions Club wanted to aid those who were hungry.  In support of our Lions HUNGER mission and goals, the SDMLC helped our local community residents and those in need of food by contributing money to the CV-19 FEEDING San Diego project so that additional food supplies could be purchased and distributed.  As it has been said many times during this pandemic, “we can get through this together.”  WE SERVE
