San Diego Lions District 4L6 held their annual Lions Veteran of the Year at the San Diego Royal Banquet Hall on October 24th.  A full house and sold out event, there were approximately 155 people in attendance to honor all of our veterans and Lion veteran nominees from a number of clubs. The  4L6 District Governor, 1st Vice District Governor, and 2nd Vice District Governor along with other members of leadership were in attendance to enjoy the suspense of learning would be the top Lion Veteran of the Year.  We all enjoyed a wonderful lunch along with a active duty US Navy Captain “guest speaker.” Two veterans from the San Diego Miramar Lions Club were nominated:  Lion Erik Curry, USN, and Lion Ernest Fagan, USN-Ret.  Lion Ernest Fagan was also recognized as the First Runner Up for the Lions Veteran of the Year Award.  After the official awards, there were fun and fabulous raffles along with Lion fellowship.  Congratulation to both of our SDMLC nominated veterans, and a big thank you to our very own Lion Jay Ruiz, Sr., for all of his efforts as the District’s Veteran of the Year Event Chairperson.  It was a very successful event!
