On a beautiful Sunday afternoon in July, District 4L6 kicked off the new year with a morning brunch surrounded by flowers and happiness – Pacific Islander style. Sporting their best Hawaiian shirts, dresses, moomoos, and trimmed with floral leis, the Lions celebrated friendship, camaraderie, and the installation of the new cabinet members. With an estimated PRIDE of approximately 175+ lions from a multitude of clubs, brunch was served while “Elvis” danced, joked, and swayed about the dance floor. Later, island dancers in festive garb gave a stellar performance while helping a few volunteers from the audience shake and shimmy in their “grass skirts.” A good time was had by all –
San Diego Miramar Lions Club President, Elizabeth, was officially installed as the 4L6 Valley Zone Chair. The Valley Zone includes six Lions clubs: Poway, Rancho Bernardo, Vietnamese American, Premier, Pathfinders, and Miramar clubs. In attendance with Lion Liz to help with the celebration was Lion Erik and Lion Quyen Curry, SDMLC’s Organizing Lion Jay Ruiz Sr, and 2nd DG & SDMLC’s Guiding Lion, Lion Julio DeGuzman.
