District 4L6 was the “City Host” for the 4th Quarter Council of Governors (COG) meeting that took place in June from the 8th through the 11th at the Hilton Hotel Mission Valley, San Diego.  At the COG, early training was provided for all incoming 2nd Vice District Governors (2nd VDGs) Elect prior to the start of the COG, and continued fellowship for all California District Governors, 1st Vice District Governors, and all 2nd Vice District Governors.  During the COG meetings, a variety of subjects are addressed and during the 4th Quarter annual COG, a special farewell is prepared and presented to all of the California outgoing Council of Governors.  During the four-day event, the current Council Chair Karen Crook passed along vital pieces of information needed for the next Council to consider while preparing their annual plan for LY 2023-2024, a multitude of established Lions committees met, and new information was shared regarding the Youth Protection Program within the State of California.  The newly elected 2nd Vice District Governors had a chance to share classroom time as well as bonding during COG dining events.  The San Diego MD4 COG meeting was hosted by District 4L6 District Governor Lion Jay Ruiz, Jr., and it was a “roaring success.”
