During the Memorial Day weekend, 19 volunteers assisted with the remembrance of our fallen military by placing flags on the headstones and burial sites at the Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery, San Diego, during the Memorial Day weekend. SDMLC Lions were joined by five other lions clubs, and, we together, remembered the reason for Memorial Day. 500+ flags were placed that day with volunteer lions offering to return on Tuesday to pick up the flags for re-use next year. The following Tuesday after the Memorial Day remembrance, lions from the SDMLC returned to pick up the flags for use next year. Thank you Lions for remembering the reason we have a Memorial Day Monday holiday.
