During the month of September, the San Diego Miramar Lions Club continued its collection drive for eyeglasses, both new and used, and hearing aids for refurbishment/redistribution. Partnering up with the Rancho Bernardo Lions Club, we managed to collect 322 clear eye glasses, 40 eye glass cases, 70 sunglasses, 11 hearing aids, 4 cleaning cloths, and miscellaneous hearing aid batteries/cases, and 2 eye glass chains. Lion Ernest made the delivery for the club, and received a friendly greeting from the Operations Director, Enrique (pictured here). Donated eyeglasses, pieces and parts of frames, and sunglasses are then given a new “life” after refurbishment and redistribution to our communities in need. It is such a warm feeling to help others with the gift of vision. Keep up the good work by continuing to donate your eyewear to the SDMLC or call us for pick-up.
