On a beautiful morning full of San Diego sunshine, atop Mt. Soledad, nine Lions Clubs of District 4L6 came out in Lion fellowship and solidarity to honor and support a veteran ceremony recognizing one of our Nation’s heroes, Sergeant Dan Foster. This ceremony was to commemorate the awarding and placement of a plaque on the Mt. Soledad National Memorial Wall in remembrance and gratitude for the many contributions and sacrifices made by Sergeant Foster.
In partnership with the Mt. Soledad National Veterans Association, the District 4L6’s volunteering Lions, each of these Lions a military veteran, planned and organized transporting community members, dignitaries, and special guests to and from the ceremony site located at the top of the mountain both before and after the close of ceremonies. The efforts of these many lion volunteers ensured a successful veteran event while providing the attending community with comfort and safety during their shuttle ride from multiple parking locations.
