In January 2020, the San Diego Miramar Lions completed their 5K sponsored walk at Lake Miramar raising enough money to buy the requested arts and crafts projects/materials for the kids in treatment at Rady Children’s Hospital with cancer and diabetes. There were over 370 items that were donated and included multiple-sized canvases, a myriad of paintbrushes, knitting sets, clay sets, writing/art journals, art sequin models, glitter pens, coloring books, colored pencils, bead projects, toy models, crayons, markers, puzzles, and more. The donated arts/crafts filled an entire car and even the trunk. The Rady Children’s Hospital Staff greeted us at the door, and were very appreciative of our contributions to the kids. We took this opportunity to share a few smiles, handshakes around, and even a few hugs.
Thank you Lions everywhere for completing this annual walk/run for these kids, and for all the community citizens who joined us at Lake Miramar to make this possible. To those individuals that sponsored the walkers/runners, thank you for your generosity to the kids. We do appreciate your support.
